Palace for Life Foundation is the official charity of Crystal Palace FC. We have been working with the south London community for over 25 years and use the power of Palace and sport to change the lives of young people.
Who can attend Soccer Schools? Our Soccer Schools are open to boys and girls aged 5-12 of all abilities.
What time do Soccer Schools run? Daily hours have been extended from 9.00am-4.00pm
Is lunch provided and what is it? A packed lunch consisting of sandwich, water, piece of fruit, organic cake bar, fruit/vegetable crisps or popcorn is provided at all courses (except Selhurst Astro), but we recommend players bring plenty to drink and snacks for mid-morning and mid-afternoon if required. Children turning up on the day (not pre-booked) will require a packed lunch.
What is the format of the courses? Players will be following the FA Four Corner model, which will look at every aspect of their game – social, psychological, physic and tactical – to ensure they become the best player they can be. There will be a mixture of fun, practical sessions out on the pitch to enhance player development, as well as interactive workshop-based activities in the classroom. Just like the professionals, players will experience video analysis, nutritional advice and also learn about a number of different aspects linked to the game. We hope that the skills players gain will not just help as a footballer, but will teach transferable skills like compassion and fair play.
Are the courses outside? All of our venues have indoor and outdoor facilities.
How many coaches will there be? We always have a ratio of one coach to 16 children and all of our coaches are FA-licensed, DBS-checked and have first aid and safeguarding qualifications.
What should children bring? Suitable training wear (including appropriate footwear), warm/waterproof clothing, sun cream/sun hat depending on the weather, shin pads, snacks and plenty to drink (nothing fizzy). For Selhurst Arena packed lunch is required. Children turning up on the day (not pre-booked) will also require a packed lunch.
Do all children get a workbook? Workbooks are provided to support workshops for those booking three days or more to give a chance for parents or carers to see what they are learning.
Do all children get written feedback? Written feedback is given to those booking three days or more.
Is it cheaper to book more than one day? Cost per day is reduced when booking three or more days at Goals Beckenham, Harris Academy, Crystal Palace National Sports Centre, Bishops Justus, Carshalton Sports College and Caterham School. Cost per day is reduced when booking five days at Selhurst Astro.
Who can attend Elite Development Centres? Elite Development Centres are by invite only but children who demonstrate potential at Palace for Life Foundation courses have the chance to be invited.
Can players get scouted for Palace? Players who attend Palace for Life Foundation courses have the chance to progress to our Elite Development Centres, where they will be able to join the Elite Player Pathway, which leads into CPFC Academy for players who show the potential to progress.
